Well all Mexican places just taste the same. Nothing outstanding. The salsa was just mediocre . Even when I ask for some HOT sauce it did not deliver. Just plain. The service was good food got here quickly. The high point was the Chile rellnos was very cheesy. Like 98.5 of restaurants in the Cape just so so

I wanted a burrito, when he asked me about it I knew this place was as bad as I heard. No one makes a burrito with ground beef.

Grading on a curve with this place because there simply aren't many (any?) good Mexican places that offer tasty combination meals at a decent price. This is "Americanized" Mexican certainly not authentic Mexican just so you know what to expect. Chips are usually crispy and warm as they should be. Salsa is good and improving but not a garden salsa. Cheese dip, thankfully real white queso with jalapeno. Both the shredded chicken (taco/burrito) and grilled chicken (fajitas) are great. Beef entrees are pretty meh. Most prices are definitely in the cheap column. Our service has been spotty from time to time but after multiple visits they do a good job far more than a poor one.

The food was good and the service was very attentive, we will go back again...

Food was fresh and very tasty. Fast service maybe a bit too fast food comes out right away it doesn't give you time to enjoy your drink with an appetizer. Overall though it was delicious.

Always have gotten great service, and love the Marachi band Thursday nights. For the price, well worth it. It's clean and kept up, the staff works hard hours ensuring that it's safe to eat here.

Excellent fast service, chips & salsa as soon as you sit, yummy margarita, 22oz tap beer and the food was good! So close to home is a bonus!

Service is horrible. Order had to go back 3 out 5 orders. Charged 12.00 for 2 kids steak and cheese tacos. Never again.

Touch and go with some of the menu items. Chili verde with pork very good a bit spicy, cheese enchilada good, chili relano filled with cheese wiz I think. Salsa good, chips a little thick. Tacos a little more American then Mexican.

Really good! I was expecting a smaller restaurant and I was surprised! Colorful atmosphere with a huge menu. I had a chicken chimichanga and my mom had the taco. Very good meat and authentic Mexican rice and beans at very cheap prices! The chips and salsa were also fresh and homemade, delicious! Staff not the most attentive but we had no complaints. Gives other local Mexican favorites a run for their money!

Very good food and great service. Great local option if you're looking for Mexican food in Cape Coral. I will definitely go back here again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Try it out!

Well, this used to be my favorite Mexican in our area, but my last visit will definitely be my last. First, the Margarita's are no longer the best in town! They appear to be using a mix. Anyone can do that! But this last visit, my husband and I ordered the exact some thing on the menu (it was one of the lunch combo's with Chile Relenos), but mine looked different. It wasn't until I tasted it that I realized someone had spilled either liquid soap, or some type of cleaning solvent in it! I thought I was going to throw up! It seems like the server had to have known what had happened, because he was at our table again almost immediately asking if everything was alright. He took it back and brought me something else, but no one apoligized! I only had the one bite, but I couldn't get that taste out of my mouth for hours! No more El Tarasco for us!!!!!

We were so excited to eat it here, after always passing by and talking about it. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to our hype. I had the 2 chicken enchiladas and 1 chicken taco combo. Not much flavor to either, and did not like the enchilada sauce. My man had the 1 beef taco, 1 chicken enchilada and 1 Chile rellenos combo and he felt the same way. He was very disappointed with the Chile rellenos- no spice whatsoever. No hot sauce or any other condiments on the table except salt and pepper either. Our waiter was OK but not very outgoing or friendly. Very doubtful that we would go back here.

This is the second of what I hope will be many visits to El Tarasco. The food is fresh, hot, and flavorful. The staff is very friendly and attentive, and the mariachi band adds to the authentic atmosphere.

Food is always extremely fresh and tastes great. Chicken quesadilla is the way to go. Food always comes out 5 mins too soon but I'm pretty impatient anyway. Good for take-out too.

I typically eat here a couple times a month. I like the place for two reasons: - The hostess always remembers me, and is very friendly. I typically get sat at the same table. - The tacos a la diabla are always delicious. It's a large portion and and it comes with plenty of cilantro, sauces and rice and beans. The food has been good every time. Their salsa is not chunky, which I like. It also has a little heat. Seems to be fresh made. There are sometimes when my order isn't quite right, but I'm kind if plain and my orders can be a little tricky. It's a reliable place to get your chips and salsa fix.

Meh. Pretty standard Mexican entrees and combo meal platters, all smothered in heavy sauce and cheese. Lots of unnecessary carbs and calories. Not horrible, but not awesome. I ordered the #8 combination platter which came with an enchilada, a tamale, and bland sides of rice and beans. The tamale was filled with tasty spiced shredded beef, but I could've done without it being covered in red sauce and cheese. The enchilada was also drowned in cheese and sauce, but filled with ground beef that tasted similar to Taco Bell. That's not an insult coming from me, I love Taco Bell, just a heads up to other Yelpers. Anyway, that huge plate of food was only $8.99 and I definitely left full. El Tarasco gives out complimentary chips and salsa that I gorged on, as well as some really good, creamy guacamole dip that was like $4. I wouldn't say no to a return visit, but I don't think I'll be craving round two anytime soon.

Just left and have to say all five of us are very hard critics on Mexican food. It was truly enjoyable. Excellent service. Great simple food. Best in the Cape by far.

Gringo heaven! On a scale of 1(touristy as hell) to 5 ( I just stepped through a worm hole and landed in Mexico City) this is a strong 2. The saving grace was the free salsa and chips (although a jar salsa still fairly tastey) and also the tacos de asada. Other than that, Dan the accountant from Hoboken could eat here (and probably has) and feel like he is eating authentic Mexican food. I mean who puts ground beef in enchiladas? And the sauce in top tasted like something I could put on my mashed potatoes at thanksgiving!

Ok now I'm getting g close to finding an actual Mexican restaurant. This close loved the food came out really fast I think they were reading my mind or something. Only thing is my waitress was running the front and tending to tables so I felt a bit neglected and had to ask others to bring refills and napkins but other then that I'll try it again.

I ordered two chicken enchiladas and a chicken taco. Unbelievably, the taco had nothing on it but chicken and lettuce, not a drop of sauce or any spice. The enchiladas were covered with melted cheese and a sauce which tasted OK but was just too greasy. The service was fine. The salsa was good. I would never return.

Went with friends even though we are not big Mexican food fans. Had a nice dinner with a Mariachi Band for entertainment. The service was excellent. Daniel was helpful, friendly and entertaining. I had a combination platter. They all come in between $9-10 and have plenty to eat, mine had chile relanos, a chalupa and a burrito. I could tell the relines because is a stuffed pepper, but wouldn't know a chalupa from a burrito. It was excellent in any case. One friend had something salsa verde and said it was the best he has ever had. Everyone enjoyed the meal and it was a bargain. I ordered the fried ice cream for dessert and it was as big as a softbal

I've dined here once for lunch and was not impressed at all. Came back during a dinner service thinking it would be better and it was actually worse!! The food is mushy and tasteless and looks like it's been microwaved after sitting in a pan all day...bleh!! One person in our party ordered the shredded beef and it was so salty it was not edible!! I ordered the chicken quesadilla thinking that would be hard to mess up and I've had better at Moe's for half the price! Will never return.

Decided to pop in the day before Cinco De Mayo. The staff were excited and encouraging the patrons to join them the next day for the festivities which included free tequila shots and live music. They were all very friendly. Our waiter told us they'd been open just under a year and doing well with a Mariachi band on Thursday nights for entertainment. Their menu was full of great choices, easily explained if you're a Mexican food novice. My husband is easy but I'm on a restricted diet and the waiter didn't mind taking a few moment to customize a meal for meal. No extra charge either. Both of our meals came out piping hot and were delicious!! My chicken was grilled to absolute perfection and was tender and delicious. We both can't wait to return and have told several friends already. No comparison to Iguana Mia- this is actually what Mexican food tastes like!! Extra bonus is the polite, attentive staff. Very impressive!

As I was eating my lunch, I envisioned the guy in the back, heating the entries one-by-one in the kitchen's microwave. I just wish he had kept his hair out of it. Yeah, this was not a pleasant experience. The wait staff seemed rather intense and distant. They came around once in awhile, but not when you needed a refill on your tea or needed to pay the check. The meal had no character. Nothing that made it stand out from a frozen burrito from Circle-K. The only thing I liked was the salsa, and it tasted like the stuff I've bought from Costco in a jug. It was cold. It probably was from that jug. Yeah, about that hair... Think I should have said something?

We really liked it, its the only place we've found around here that has any vegetarian options, besides Moes. Great full bar. The service was very efficient, we were in and out of there in under an hour, but didn't feel rushed.

Very nice clean and good service. Food is better than Chillis.

Downright AWFUL. 3 meals...all cold (fridge cold) on the inside. Perhaps because our food came out 5 minutes after we ordered. Obviously cooked to order. If you are going to open a Mexican restaurant a mile from Taco Bell I suggest having better food or start charging taco bell prices. I don't think I've ever had worse. Even our waiter knew it was horrible.

The first time we went the food was very tasty and freshly made. The second time I went I had the blandest Taco salad I have ever experienced. The third time I went, I got a plate of micro-waved dog food. No more for me!

Went tonight with family. The service was good and the waiter was friendly. The food was good (even though I'm not big on Mexican food). My steak quesadia was very tasty. We will be back again.

I had lunch here and thought that is was good and fairly priced, but did not like that they use ground beef in many of their dishes

Great Mexican Food! Hpow can anyone compare this place to Iguana Mia? That is Tex- Mex. This place has great Margaritas, everything is homemade. Service is excellent too. If you are looking for good Mexican food, try this restaurant. Not any places around Cape Coral that any decent Mexican food, but this Is the place!!!!!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
